Using Toys to Paint

As with any parent whose child is having school holidays, I am always looking for ways to keep Phoebie occupied. It’s always a plus point if the activity is educational.

There are many things that Phoebie likes to do, and these are sure-fire ways to let her put her energy to good use. We go for walks while she practice peddling on her tricycle, we go to the sand box at the park nearby, we go to indoor play facilities that have obstacle courses and we meet up with her friends so that they can run and play together.

Being pregnant though, I don’t always have the energy to bring Phoebie out these days. It especially doesn’t help that even though I am in the second trimester, the nausea still comes and goes. So I have good days and not-so-good days.

Also, it is the rainy season in Singapore, so it isn’t always possible to go outdoors.

I am trying my best to limit Phoebie’s time on gadgets like the iPad because I don’t want her to get too attached to them. So on my not-so-good days, I try to do things that allow me to sit and Phoebie can still have fun.

It’s been a while since we painted and Phoebie loves painting, so I decided to let her do it today while I nurse my nausea.

I wanted to let her do vegetable prints but I don’t know what kind of veggies my mum had in the fridge, so I decided to do something different.

After we were done, I got Phoebie to help wash and scrub the paint off the toys and she had fun with the chore.

Think we’ll be looking for more things to paint with soon!
